thumbnail_JSN - Garage fire - LaughlinClark County Firefighters were called out to the Bilbray Ranch neighborhood in Laughlin this morning for a reported garage fire. There are no reports of injuries.

The fire broke out shortly after 10 a.m., Nevada time, at a residence in the 2200 block of Dillons Cove Dr. Arriving firefighters reported heavy smoke billowing out of the garage as they arrived on scene. Their initial attack was to the fire in the garage, but they also checked the attic space to ensure the fire did not spread to any other area of the house.

People in the neighborhood told investigators that they heard loud popping noises coming from the garage just before the fire broke out. The homeowner was reportedly working on one of his vehicles with a welding torch. Investigators with the Clark County fire department could not confirm the fire was started by anything associated with the welding torch. The jeep that the homeowner was reportedly working on was destroyed in the fire.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
