Phoenix Fire crews got a quick handle on a fire at a guest house Wednesday morning. Captain Ardell Deliz says, fortunately, the resident was outside the home around 6:30 a.m when he saw the inside of his house on fire and called 9-1-1. Deliz says firefighters managed to isolate the fire from other houses

, including the main one on the property, which was only 20 feet from the ignited guest house.

Deliz says, the resident heard popping as the fire raged, but there’s no evidence of ammunition or fireworks. For now, the cause of the fire is undetermined. No one was hurt.

Deliz says the incident is a stark reminder to get smoke detectors for your home, and if you have had them for many years, to replace them.
