The Northern Arizona Consolidated Fire District responded to a reported structure fire in the 4300 Block of N. Van Nuys around 7:00pm Saturday night. First arriving crews observed heavy smoke and flames coming from a full-involved travel trailer and an abandoned single-wide mobile home.
The residence next door had an adjacent wood fence, eves, and roof shingles on fire as well. The single-wide mobile home on the north side of the fire also sustained radiant heat damage from the heavy fire load.
All occupants of the affected residences were safely evacuated upon the fire department’s arrival. An initial attack was made to protect the exposures from further damage. Once the fire was extinguished, an extensive overhaul operation was completed due to extreme hoarding of domestic garbage left in the yard of the property of origin.
The cause of fire is suspicious in nature and remains under investigation at this time. No injuries were reported and no estimated dollar loss is available at this time.
