Nearly five hundred attendees are registered for the Arizona Fire District Association (AFDA) winter conference in Laughlin. A Thursday morning golf tournament kicks off the conference. Headquartered at the Aquarius Resort, the working portion of the conference opens Thursday afternoon. Fire District Board members and chief officers have enrolled in instructional classes scheduled Friday and Saturday. Some of the areas of instruction involve finance, governance, legislation and open meeting law training. Northern Arizona Consolidated Fire District Chief Pat Moore and Lake Mohave Ranchos Fire District Administrator John Flynn, the Executive Director of AFDA, are among a number of professionals who will provide class instruction.
