Phoenix Firefighters award brave citizen for saving a 72-year-old woman from a vicious dog attack.  Captain Ben Santillan with the Phoenix Fire Department says Juan Figueroa has been given a “Citizen Lifesaving” award for his heroic efforts on fending off a wild pack of angry dogs that were attacking 72-year-old

Elia Gutierrez at Barrios Unidos Park in July.  Figeuroa was driving by the park early in the morning when he saw the elderly woman struggling to hold off the dogs.  Figueroa came to the rescue and fought the dogs off with a pipe until help arrived.  Gutierrez lost four pints of blood and endured hours of trauma surgery, but in the end she survived thanks to the heroic efforts of Juan Figueroa.
