Free youth dental services are being offered to families without dental insurance throughout Mohave County. Mohave Community College’s dental programs are hosting the 10th annual “Give Kids A Smile Day” from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7 in Building 900 on the Bullhead City campus at 3400 Highway 95. For no charge, uninsured children ages 4-14 can receive a teeth cleaning, fluoride treatment, sealants, and oral hygiene instructions. MCC’s event is part of a national organization that began providing dental services to undeserved populations in 2002. MCC began participating in the national efforts in 2006. The event is expected to serve 80 children through the volunteer efforts of approximately 50 dentists, hygienists, and assistants. Parents can call (928) 704-7797 (Bullhead City) to schedule an appointment. For more information about MCC’s dental programs, go to www.mohave.edu/dentalhygiene or www.mohave.edu/dentalassist.
