MOHAVE COUNTY-Looking for some fun this holiday weekend? Several different events are scheduled in and around Mohave County that are geared for all ages.

Friday, July 3:

-Alastair Greene Band will be on stage at the Arrowweed Lounge inside the Avi Resort & Casino as part of their Blues on the River celebration. The concert begins at 8 p.m. Admission is free. Adults only.

-Live bands will be rocking their tunes outside the Colorado Belle’s Loading Dock stage over the weekend. Musical guests are the Jeremy James Band and KK Martin Band. Vendors will be on hand selling food and frosty beverages.

Saturday, July 4:

-The 25th Annual Oatman Egg Fry contest will be held in downtown Oatman at noon. Participants will try their luck at frying an egg by using different contraptions under the sweltering temperatures of the desert. For more information, or to sign up, contact 928-514-8595.

-The annual Independence Day party at the Needles Aquatics Center is being held from noon to 4 p.m. and offers a bevy of water activities for the children and teens. A crowning ceremony for Miss Freedom and Mr. Firecracker will round out the afternoon event.

-Rockets Over the River will blast off into the desert sky at 9:30 p.m. Spectators can catch the show along the river walk between the Edgewater Casino and Aquarius Hotel & Casino in Laughlin. The 20 minute fireworks display will be synchronized to music playing on a various radio stations.

-Avi Resort & Casino’s annual 4th of July fireworks show will also start shortly after dusk. Grab a spot on the grass or on the beach and watch the sky illuminate with American pride. Admission is free to all ages.

-The Laughlin community pool, 3790 James A. Bilbray Parkway, is offering a free swim day from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.

-For Lake Havasu City residents, a firework celebration will begin after sundown over Thompson Bay. Residents are encouraged to use Rotary Park or the Nautical Beachfront Resort for best viewing.
