The name of the man who was killed in a Memorial holiday weekend aviation incident in northwest Arizona has been identified by the Mohave County Sheriff’s office. Agency spokewoman Trish Carter said Eulice Melton Evans, 63, was fatally injured in the crash of the ultra glider he operated on Saturday, May 27.

Carter said Evans’ neighbor called the sheriff’s office at 6:42 a.m. to report that he watched the ultra glider take off and then crash in the desert about a quarter-mile from his home in Golden Valley. Evans was dead at the scene.
