A bittersweet moment for Governor Jan Brewer as she flips the switch on the Capitol Christmas tree for her last time while in office. Monday morning’s annual ceremony took place in the lobby of the Executive Tower.

The Governor says, as we reflect on this holiday season, “it’s time for goodwill and gratitude, for family, friends and faith.” She adds, let’s not forget the gifts we take for granted, that “don’t have a price tag, yet are not free, like peace, security and freedom.”

The tree is a 21 foot blue spruce that came from the Coconino National Forest.
