JOE NEVAREZBullhead City Police arrested an 84-year-old man for molesting four of his great-granddaughters.  On Wednesday, March 18th at 2:30 p.m., police responded to a residence in the 1700 block of Coral Reef Drive for a report of a sexual assault. Police spoke to two mothers (sisters) who live at the residence with their children (total of nine). The mothers’ grandfather, Joe Nevarez, had moved in about two months ago. It was reported that one of the children told their mother that Nevarez had inappropriately touched them.  The mothers talked to their children and discovered that four female children were victimized. (Each mother had two daughters who were victims. Ages 7, 8, 10, 11).  After further investigation, police learned that the four girls had been molested by their great grandfather numerous times since January, 2015 while in Bullhead City. The case will be forwarded to neighboring law enforcement agencies as the victims disclosed that Nevarez had also committed sexual offenses while they lived in Laughlin, NV and Mohave County for the past three years.  Joe Nevarez was arrested Wednesday afternoon for sexual conduct with a minor, sexual assault and continuous sexual abuse of a child. More charges may be pending. Nevarez was booked into the Mohave County Jail in Kingman with no bond.
