The draining of Tempe Town Lake has garnered a few interesting discoveries.  Lieutenant Mike Pooley with Tempe Police says three pistols were found at the bottom of the empty lake that may lead detectives to solving a few cold case files.  One pistol has been identified as a gun reported stolen from Chandler.  Another

gun was severely corroded from being in the lake for so long.  Pooley says the weapons will be tested and those results will be placed in a national data base.  Pooley says once that happens, “we’ll see if anything hits.” It should take a couple weeks to know if the weapons found are the missing link to any outstanding crimes.
