Dick Whittington, CEO Northern Vertex, announced today the addition of Lisa McCabe to the staff at Golden Vertex, effective March 31. McCabe’s role will be Chief Information Officer, a position previously filled by long-time area resident John Masterson. “It’s with great sadness that we say goodbye to John” said Whittington. “We wish him and his family the very best in their relocation to Texas. At the same time, I am very pleased to welcome Lisa McCabe to the Golden Vertex team. Her talents are a perfect fit.” Golden Vertex is the US subsidiary of Northern Vertex, the company that is over-seeing the reactivation of the Moss Mine project.
McCabe, also a long-time area resident, most recently served as the President of the Bullhead Regional Economic Development Authority. “I have some very big shoes to fill” said McCabe, “but I am looking forward to the challenge, and most especially I’m looking forward to working with such a visionary company as Golden Vertex.”
McCabe’s new duties as Chief Information Officer include representing Golden Vertex in the Bullhead City area, where she will interact with all elements of the community and regularly update them on the status of the development of a potential mine at the Moss Mine Project site. She will also be responsible for working with community representatives on a variety of projects and programs that benefit the socio-economic activities of the Bullhead City community. High on the list of these projects is the “Pathway to Mining Engineer Partnership” among Mohave High School, Mohave Community College and the Lowell Institute of Mining at the University of Arizona in Tucson. “This education initiative is a result of a challenge I made in August 2013” said Whittington. “In ten years or less, I would like the General Manager of the Moss Mine Project to have been a graduate of Mohave High School. I’m thrilled that Lisa will be stepping in to help Mohave High School Principal Steve Lawrence and his team in continuing the forward momentum of this program.”
Other community projects include the Colorado River Heritage Center at Community Park Task Force partnership with the Colorado River Museum where Golden Vertex has played a key role instigating this initiative, which will showcase the diverse cultural heritage of the Bullhead City area. Other key initiatives will be the Multiple Avenues of Successful Health Care partnership among all five area High Schools, Western Arizona Regional Medical Center and Valley View Medical Center; the Amazing Bullhead City Task Force, and many more.
McCabe’s last day with the Bullhead Regional Economic Development Authority is March 30, and she begins her new role with Golden Vertex on March 31. The Golden Vertex office is located at 2440 Adobe Road, Suite 101, just off the Bullhead Parkway. For more information about Golden Vertex, log onto www.northernvertex.com.
