Lake Havasu City has selected its next fire chief. Brian Davis has been hired to take over the department as Chief Dennis Mueller retires.
Havasu Hires Fire Chief
Davis, the fire chief in Freeport, Texas has spent his last 18 years in the fire service. Prior to that he had extensive experience in the military, corrections and law enforcement fields.
Davis was chosen from a field of 36 applicants.
“We had an excellent pool of extremely well qualified applicants, but Brian quickly rose to the top,” Cassens said. “The selection committee was unanimous. Brian is highly motivated, well-educated and eager to get started in Lake Havasu City. And we are ready to welcome him.”
Davis will begin his new job in Lake Havasu City on May 23.
Mueller is exiting after a 35 year career with the department, nine of them as Fire Chief.
“Dennis Mueller will be missed,” said City Manager Charlie Cassens. “He built a strong department and provided expert leadership. We thank him and wish him all the best in this next chapter of his life.”
