Maricopa County Animal Care and Control has euthanized most of the 79 cats they pulled out of a Gilbert home last month.  Spokeswoman Melissa Gable says they took in nearly 80 cats from a hoarding situation and adoption attempts have failed.  She says they knew going in that most of the cats would not be

adoptable, but wanted to open up the possibility to the public.  After three weeks, only two kittens have been adopted.  She says “it’s unfortunate, we don’t want to be the bad guys, but we’ve had to start euthanizing because they can’t they can’t take these cats because they are not highly adoptable.  Most of the cats are extremely ill suffering from feline leukemia and were traumatized to be around people.
