Mohave County Sheriff’s Office will be participating in the Operation Dry Water task force during the Independence Holiday Weekend.   Specifically, Operation Dry Water is a heightened awareness and enforcement focused on reducing the number of alcohol/drug related accidents and fatalities while fostering a stronger, more visible deterrent to alcohol and drug use on the water.

According to Mohave County Waterways Sgt. Kyler Cox, since the inception of the Operation Dry Water Campaign in 2009, the campaign continues to make a significant impact on the boater safety and spreading the message of the danger of boating under the influence.

“If you’re operating a boat, don’t’ drink, and help us to keep our lakes and rivers safe and fun this summer.  Always wear a lifejacket!  83% of people who drowned in a recreational boating accident were not wearing a life jacket,” Sgt. Cox said.
