You and I may take our coats for granted when it gets chilly. But for the homeless, having one is a pipe dream. So Four Peaks Brewery is confronting that lack with a week-long coat drive. Greg Ross with Four Peaks says the idea came from Tempe location Manager Alison Atkinson, who recently
saw homeless people in Downtown Tempe out in the cold with nothing to keep them warm as the temperatures dropped.
Ross says the coats will be distributed by “Maggie’s Place”, a charity providing outreach to needy pregnant women. Coat donations are being accepted through Sunday at Four Peaks Brewery locations in Tempe and Scottsdale.
Ross says the goal is to collect at least 200 coats by next Sunday.
