Thursday, November 17th is the American Cancer Society’s Great American Smokeout. In observation of this event, Kingman Regional Medical Center (KRMC), the Mohave County Department of Public Health, and the Kingman Youth Coalition Beating up Teen Tobacco (KYCBUTT) will host a “Breathe Better” health fair in Kingman.
The event will be held from 5:00 p.m–7:00 p.m. at the KRMC Medical Professional Center, 1739 Beverly Ave. The health fair is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
To kick off the event, area children will place luminaries on the corner of Beverly and Stockton Hill Rd to show their commitment to never start smoking. The health fair will include information about the health effects of smoking and resources in our community to help people quit. Additionally, the fair will feature resources and education materials for people with lung disease or breathing disorders.
During the Great American Smokeout, smokers across the nation quit smoking for the day, which can be an important step toward a healthier life.
