Human remains have been found in a South Phoenix sewer.  Officer James Holmes with Phoenix Police says the gruesome discovery was made after a homeowner called the Phoenix City Water Department complaining of a sewage back-up.  The water department found the blockage which turned out to be body

parts.  Holmes says the body is an adult, but it’s unknown whether the body is a man or woman.  The hazmat team was called in, as well as the Phoenix Fire Department and homicide detectives, to remove the body. They’ve taken a camera into the sewer to gather evidence and “they are finding things inside this sewer system.”  Next step is trying to determine who the victim is and determine manner of death.
