Golden Valley Firefighters used their extrication skills to remove a single occupant from this Chevrolet Suburban at Mile Post 25 on Hwy-68 Wednesday at 4:45 PM. The driver stated she was eastbound when she veered onto the south shoulder. Once on the soft gravel shoulder, she stated over-corrected, sending the vehicle into a slide and rolling over at least twice according to witnesses. An unnamed off-duty Texas firefighter who witnessed the accident stated it happened so quickly and confirmed the driver’s account of the incident. That firefighter crawled into the vehicle and held cervical traction until GVFD paramedics arrived. Paramedics removed the patient who was transported to KRMC for moderate injuries. Hwy-68 traffic was slowed for about 45-minutes while ADOT cleared the scene and DPS investigated.
