A haven for young sex trafficking victims needs your help in collecting vital hygiene items for the just rescued girls. The drive will help those being sheltered by Streetlight U.S.A and Girl Scout Troop 2176 is coordinating the drive along with Phoenix Law Enforcement Association.

The organization’s Lea Benson says it’s a dire need for goods considering the shape the girls are in once they’re rescued. Benson says when sex trafficking victims arrive under Streetlight’s care, some have no shoes on, let alone products to keep them clean. Plus, financial challenges persist to make it difficult to keep enough toiletries on hand for those just picked up off the street. Items, she says, so many of us take for granted.

Streetlight U.S.A. needs products such as women’s deodorant, body wash, shampoo and conditioner, and goods like paper towels, toilet paper and underwear. If you’d like to donate, the offices of PLEA on 11th Avenue and Adams St. is collecting items or monetary contributions until February 28th.
