About 137 pounds of cocaine bound for Canada was seized following a routine traffic stop on interstate 40 on February 17. Kingman Police Department (KPD) spokeswoman Jennifer Sochocki said a Department of Public Safety (DPS) Trooper stopped a vehicle for a moving violation at 12:05 p.m. about four miles east of Kingman.
“Due to suspicious circumstances, the Trooper requested the assistance of a Kingman Police Department K9,” Sochocki said. “Officer Simonsen and K9 Amigo responded to the scene where Amigo alerted to an illegal substance in the vehicle.”
Sochocki said authorities seized about 62 kilograms of cocaine. Girolamo Delbalso, 42, Montreal, Canada was booked into jail on various drug related charges.
