An Illinois man arrested in Mesa over the weekend awaits extradition for a 12 year old boy’s murder. U.S. Marshal David Gonzales says 20 year old Steson Crider was arrested at a Mesa motel with three others Saturday. A weapon and small amount of marijuana was found in the room.
Gonzales says Crider has ties to Arizona, not because of family, but he has a history of arrests here and there’s a history of him shuttling back and forth between Illinois and Arizona.
Gonzales says Crider shot 12 year old Rayshone Humphrey Junior in illinois as he was standing outside waiting for a ride. Gonzales says the victim’s family had gotten into an argument with Crider before the boy was murdered March 28th.
Gonzales estimates it may take up to a month before Crider is extradited to Illinois.
