A judge in northwest Arizona has ordered a 15 year prison term for a Bullhead City man who pled guilty to the attempted murder of his two week-old daughter last August. Judge Billy Sipe imposed the maximum punishment possible under terms of the plea agreement entered for Jeremy Cowan.

Police said the 30-year-old defendant indicated he threw the infant head first onto a hardwood floor because he was frustrated by her continual crying. Prosecutor Jacob Cote said the victim’s foster mom, at Monday’s sentencing hearing in Kingman, told the Court that the eight-month-old baby apparently didn’t suffer any long-term injury and is doing well.
