Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a single vehicle rollover accident on Hackberry Road near milepost 8 late Friday (4/8) afternoon. At about 4:00 p.m., deputies responded to the scene of where a 1994 Jeep Cherokee with three female occupants were traveling south on Hackberry Road from Highway 66 towards Highway 93 when the vehicle failed to negotiate a right hand curve in the roadway. The vehicle swerved to the right and struck the ditch along the right side of the roadway and rolled. The vehicle came to rest on the passenger side of the vehicle and all occupants were able to exit the vehicle.
After the occupants exited the vehicle, the vehicle caught on fire and was completely engulfed. A tour helicopter crew flying over the area spotted the fire and called 911 as they landed and assisted the subjects.
Several deputies, fire personnel from Northern Arizona Consolidated Fire District and the Peach Springs Fire Department responded along with two ambulances. The driver is identified as Keshia Clarice Crozier, 30, of Peach Springs and the passengers are Ladonna Mae Smith, 19, of Peach Springs, and Cecilia Dawn Gene, 20, of Kingman. They were all transported to Kingman Regional Medical Center via ground ambulances with non-life threatening injuries. Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors. The vehicle was towed from the scene. This accident remains under investigation.
