Word on the street that a homicide occurred at the state prison in Golden Valley prompted a Tuesday news inquiry by JSN. The Arizona Department of Corrections responded that an inmate housed at the state prison died Monday. DOC said all inmate deaths are investigated in consultation with the medical examiner’s office. However, officials with the Mohave County Medical Examiner, Sheriff’s and County Attorney’s office said they were unaware of any inmate death. A DOC spokesman said the death of Neil Early, 23, is under investigation. The inmate was serving time for organized retail theft and drug paraphernalia convictions out of Maricopa County.
