Dr. Edgardo Rivera (1)On Wednesday, April 15th, 2015, prominent medical oncologist Dr. Edgardo Rivera will be speaking at Kingman Regional Medical Center (KRMC) at the monthly Lunch & Learn seminar for the public. His topic will be “Innovations in Cancer Treatment.” As a medical oncologist, Dr. Rivera specializes in managing the care and treatment of people with cancer. He brings extensive expertise from over 24-years’ experience at renowned cancer treatment hospitals.

With his training and experience, Dr. Rivera is skilled in state-of-the-art treatments for all types of cancer. Based on the patient’s choices, their form of cancer, their health status, and other specific needs; he recommends and implements a treatment plan and monitor’s the patient’s progress throughout treatment and survivorship. He also implements effective therapies to manage the side effects of cancer treatment and coordinates care among other medical providers and support services to assure his patients’ overall wellbeing.

In describing his approach to patient care, Dr. Rivera states “I work to combat my patients’ cancer with everything modern medicine has to offer.  But, in my years of experience, I realize that the most important part of my job is as a counselor and advisor to my patients and their families so they have the information they need to make informed decisions about their care.”

Lunch & Learn features a different medical professional presenter each month, focusing on important healthcare topics. The seminars are free and held in the Del E. Webb Wellness Center Conference Rooms from12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Participants bring their own lunch and KRMC provides a beverage and dessert.
