Vice President Joe Jedlowski said the 96,000 square foot facility is quite similar in size to the White Cliffs senior living community that Milestone opened about a year ago in Kingman. He said the Kingman property enjoys 60% occupancy and that nearly 30 family’s have already taken advantage of Founder’s Club incentives to reserve space at Joshua Springs.
The Bullhead City property will include 74 apartments for assisted living residents and 30 apartments for those requiring memory care services. He said Milestone is proud of its high caliber “In The Moment Memory Care Program” that Joshua Springs will provide for the special needs of residents in cognitive decline.
Jedlowski said Joshua Springs is designed, and will be operated, to provide all the necessary quality care for its residents while the medical professional service aspects are placed behind the scenes, in favor of a resort residential environment within the heart of the community.
“We’re going for a hospitality feel, the home-like atmosphere where you walk in to the smell of cookies,” Jedlowski said. “You don’t necessarily see the medical piece of things, however, obviously our primary service is providing that medical care for our residents.”
Jedlowski said some of the amenities include a beauty/barber salon, a wellness room, a mail room, a library, activity area, bistro and an “Anytime Café” where residents can eat when they like rather than the clinical, cafeteria feel where assembly line meals are only served during specified time periods.
Heading up the administration of Joshua Springs is Sandy Hicks, a 15-year veteran of the industry. The Executive Director said he’s excited about getting the property opened and operating and that he appreciates the warm welcome it has received in the Bullhead City community.
Kim Cool is serving as Community Relations Director. Interested parties can contact Cool (928-763-1212, www.joshuaspringsseniorliving.com) for information about Joshua Springs and the Founders Club.
Jedlowski said employment should reach 75 positions after the community opens its doors. He said Milestone operates 31 senior living communities with six more under development, including a new project in Casa Grande.
Jedlowski said Milestone is interested in developing additional communities elsewhere in Arizona.
