july-4th-patriotic-muttThe Bullhead City Animal Care and Welfare is offering these safety tips for residents with pets during the Fourth of July holiday weekend.

  • Keep pets indoors. Animals run away when scared by fireworks and are at risk of getting lost, injured or hit by a car.
  • Make sure your pet is wearing a license and up-to-date identification. Check that your microchip company has the correct contact information on file
  • Ask your veterinarian about calming techniques.
  • If you are enjoying chicken for your holiday meal, keep bones clear from pets. Chicken bones are very brittle and can get lodged in their throat
