A 69-year-old woman kidnapped from the parking lot of a Tucson hotel has been discovered in Phoenix. Sergeant Pete Dugan says the Department of Public Safety issued its first Silver Alert for a kidnapping of an elderly person that quickly led to her whereabouts. The suspects saw the Silver Alert along
the highway on the way to Phoenix and one suspect decided to turn himself in to police immediately. The first suspect drove to a nearby QT and called 9-1-1 saying he had Kae Soo Kim Lee. The second suspect took off and is on the loose. Police showed up and took the first suspect into custody and Kim Lee, who suffers from Advanced Dementia, appears to be unharmed. Dugan says Kim Lee and her husband have been reunited. The reason behind the abduction is under investigation.
The couple were traveling and stopped in at a Tucson hotel when Kim Lee left her hotel room in the middle of the night. She was walking the parking lot with her room key confused with her surroundings when two men approached her. A surveillance video shows the suspects grabbing the woman by her arms and tossing her into the backseat of her car. One suspect got into the driver’s seat and the other suspect got into the backseat with Kim Lee and sped off.
