The Kingman Boys and Girls Club is interested in acquiring a downtown school property as its new headquarters. The club operates out of an old gymnasium on the Campus of Lee Williams High School but would like a larger property to expand its programs.

The City of Kingman initially expressed interest in possible use of the mothballed Palo Christi Elementary school but has not followed through with cost analysis or formal consideration.

Superintendent Roger Jacks said the Kingman Unified School District has conducted workshops with Boys and Girls Club representatives. He said transfer of the property to the Club will require assessed and fair market value determinations and legal review.

Jacks said the matter could be considered during the school board’s July 11 meeting.
