20140922_165802Two finalists remain in contention for the City of Kingman’s Fire Chief position. 25 people applied for the job, five finalists were interviewed Monday and the field has been narrowed to Keith Eaton and John “Jake” Rhoades, Jr.  City Manager John Dougherty said Eaton currently serves as Fire Marshal and Assistant Chief for the City of Kingman. He said Rhoades is a 22 year fire service professional who currently teaches fire science and emergency management courses at Columbia Southern University in Oklahoma.  Dougherty said members of an interview panel and key city officials are assessing the top two contenders before selecting one for the position. “Hopefully, by early next week, at the latest, we can make an announcement,” Dougherty said.  Fire Chief Chuck Osterman is ending his 35 year career when he retires at the end of December.
