Celebrate Historic Route 66 by joining in on the only rally that travels the longest remaining slice of the Mother Road.

The 30th Annual Historic Route 66 Fun Run®, May 5-7, will take the usual route from Seligman to Topock, but attendance is expected to surge in celebration of our 30th year.

“It’s always fun to visit with friends we only see once a year” says Jan Davis, of the Historic Route 66 Association of Arizona. “Also, in commemoration of the 30th Annual Fun Run, we are raffling off a quilt made from previous Fun Run shirts.” Raffle tickets for the king-size quilt are being sold at the Association Memory Lane Gift Shop, located in the Kingman Powerhouse.

The Fun Run is not a timed race, but a 140 mile pleasure cruise of classic and custom vehicles that traverse the Mother Road from Seligman, AZ to Topock/Golden Shores, AZ.

Things get underway on Friday, May 5, in Seligman with registration, live music and an impromptu car parade through town. Best Western Plus King’s Inn in Kingman will be hosting the fifth annual Route 66 Drive-in event Friday evening starting at 8pm, feature yet to be announced.

The first leg of the journey officially begins at 10am on Saturday, May 6, with a cruise from Seligman to Downtown Kingman. The route takes drivers through the attractions and communities of Grand Canyon Caverns, Peach Springs, Truxton, Valentine, Keepers of the Wild, Hackberry, Antares Point Visitor Center, and Valle Vista.

Upon arrival in Downtown Kingman, participants line up their cars, trucks, motorcycles, trailers, buses and vans on Route 66 (Andy Devine Ave) and Beale Street for a show & shine viewing and judging. Thousands of spectators enjoy vendors, entertainment, food and the museums in Kingman’s historic district all afternoon until 5pm. At 6pm, the Garlin Hackney band will kick off the Let’s Go To The Hop dance in front of the House of Hops on Beale Street. A DJ will resume at 9pm and the party will go into the night!

The second leg of the journey begins Sunday morning, May 7. Departing from Kingman, participants will meet at the Powerhouse, with overflow parking at the Mohave Museum of History & Arts. At 9am sharp, the line will head out for the final gathering and awards ceremony in Topock/Golden Shores at 12:30pm. This scenic back-road winds past Cool Springs, Gold Road, Sitgreave’s Pass and Oatman before heading down the backside of the Black Mountains for the shores of the Colorado River. Participants must make the final leg to be judged and be eligible to win an award.

In commemoration of the 30th Fun Run, the Association is a launching a limited elite collector’s patch. To earn the patch, registrants must participate in the whole Fun Run, from Seligman to Topock, on May 5, 6 & 7. The 2017 patch is the first in a ten-year series. The final patch will be released at the 2026 Fun Run commemorating the century mark of Route 66! Completing all ten years of the Fun Run will earn participants a complete collection of patches to form a master Route 66 Fun Run Patch (pictured above). Only a limited number of patches will be available each year.

Registration for the event costs $55 per vehicle ($60 per vehicle after April 21). The fee includes a T-shirt, dash plaque, commemorative license plate, and entrance to the Kingman show-n-shine and Topock/Golden Shores award ceremony.
