While Spring and Summer offer residents of Kingman ample opportunity to be active outdoors, the Fall and Winter seasons bring many recreational events as well.

The 2016 Fall Festival is set to take place on Saturday, October 29th from 1pm-4:30pm at Centennial Park. This event includes many traditional Halloween activities for the whole family such as costume contests, Cake walks, carnival style game booths, hay rides and much more.

The long anticipated Broadway show Steel Magnolias and Neon Museum trip to Las Vegas has only a few seats remaining. The cost for the trip is $75.00 and the activity takes place on November 19th.

Many parents who are worried about securing affordable afterschool and all day Friday care for their children have taken advantage of the City’s After School program. Kids can participate in numerous challenging and exciting games, get help with homework and enjoy field trips across the Tri-State. Space in this program is limited so call the Parks and Rec office for more details.

Responding to a demand for more adult sports tournaments in the area, the Recreation Department has launched it’s first Holiday Toy Collection Softball Tournament. Every player in this event is required to bring a new, unwrapped toy as well as a can of food prior to their first scheduled games on December 3rd and 4th. The recipients of the toys will be the Kingman Marine Corp League and all donations are kept local. The cost to enter is team is just $200.00 and spots are filling up fast. The 2016 Santa Calling program is now accepting applications. Parents can fill out form for children ages 3-9 who are able to converse on the phone. Kids will get a call from Santa or Mrs. Clause so they can chat about their school, their behavior and their Christmas Wish List. Forms can be submitted to the North Pole in the City’s Red Mail Boxes at the Parks and Recreation Office, City hall and the Fire Station on Gordon Street.

Children’s Letters to Santa can be deposited in any red mailboxes, or they can be mailed to Kingman Parks and Recreation, 3333 Harrison Street in care of the North Pole Letters must include a self-addressed stamped envelope to secure a letter is returned.

Breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Clause will be held at Golden Corral on December 10th from 8:00am to 10:00am. Photo opportunities will be available for purchase,

Looking for a way to start your new year off right? The annual Polar Bear Plunge takes place on New Year’s Day at 12:00pm at Centennial Pool. This is a free activity and there will be hot chocolate and warm showers available for all event participants.
