KRMC_and_wordmarkThe Kingman Regional Medical Center (KRMC) Foundation is pleased to announce the 13th Annual Route 66 Race for Hospice. The event will be held on Saturday, May 7th in downtown Kingman, starting promptly at 7:30 a.m.

Proceeds from the event will support operations of the KRMC Joan and Diana Hospice Home, which provides comfort and care to people with limited life expectancy.

The 10k and 5k races begin and end at the Powerhouse Visitor Center on Route 66. The 5K route proceeds up El Trovatore Hill, with the turnaround point at the crest of the hill.  The 10K route also goes up El Trovatore Hill and continues onto Hualapai Mountain Road, turning around just past the Copper Ridge apartments.

The event also includes a one-mile race on Route 66 for juniors (age twelve and under) and a three-mile walk for anyone of any age.  The walking route goes through historic downtown Kingman.

The closing awards ceremony will be held at Locomotive Park.  Awards will be presented to the top three race finishers in each age group by gender.

Racers and walkers can sign-up online at or call Scott Kern at 928-681-8656.  The entry fee is $30 for adults and $15 for children twelve and under.  Adults who sign up prior to May 2nd will receive $5 off the entry fee.

Participants are encouraged to raise pledges from friends and family.  Those who raise over $100 will have their entry fee waived and are eligible for prizes at the awards ceremony.

All participants will receive a custom t-shirt and goody bag. Packet pick-up will be on Friday, May 6th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Dambar & Steakhouse, where participants will also receive a 20% discount for a meal that evening.
