Lake Havasu City has received a $70,000 grant from the Bureau of Reclamation to help fund a water conservation rebate program starting October 1, 2015 and ending March 31, 2016, unless grant funds are exhausted before the end of the program.
This year’s rebate items are: low flush volume (1.6 gallon or less) toilets that replace the older high flush volume (5-2.8 gallon) toilets in homes older than 1994; swimming pool covers (bubble or multiple rings that cover 90-100% of the pool) – liquid covers do not qualify; hot water recirculation pumps; and new this year, smart irrigation controllers with rain or moisture sensor.
Rebates for toilets, pumps and controllers are 75% of the purchase price of the item up to $100.00, excluding shipping, taxes, and installation. Pool covers are rebated at 50% of the cost up to $50.00. NEW this year, rebate checks will not be issued and water accounts will be credited instead.
