Mohave County is hosting the County Supervisors Association’s (CSSA) annual legislative summit. About 150 attendees have registered for the annual event that is getting underway today at the Nautical Beachfront Resort in Lake Havasu City.
“Our membership is really excited to come up to Havasu,” said Craig Sullivan, CSSA Executive Director. “I think this is going to be a very effective opportunity for Mohave County to show off a little bit about the region and for all of their colleagues to learn about the issues that are relevant to the area. I’m quite certain that we’ll have a productive meeting and good results will come out of it.”
The summits are held annually in preparation for the state legislative session that starts in January in Phoenix. County’s explore issues to see if they can adopt a unified front for legislative lobbying.
Sullivan said 24 policy proposals are to be addressed in work sessions. Some topics include pension reform, water policy and juvenile detention facilities.
The summit concludes Thursday.
