A little girl is clinging to life after being stuck by a Phoenix patrol car while running to an ice cream truck.  Officer James Holmes with Phoenix police says the 35-year-old female police officer was driving down the street responding to a call when a three-year-old girl ran out in front of her police car to get to the ice cream

truck.  The girl’s mother was nearby when the accident happened. The child was rushed to the hospital in extremely critical condition.  The officer, who has been on the force for eight years, is beside herself with grief over what happened.
