The Valley View Medical Center Auxiliary is committed to supporting workforce development in health care career fields by sponsoring scholarships for students who attend Mohave Community College’s Bullhead City campus.
“The VVMC Auxiliary believes in the power of education to transform lives, and we want to support educational opportunities that help students find good paying jobs in our local communities,” said Nancy Kerns, President of the VVMC Auxiliary. “By providing scholarships, we are helping to prepare our future workforce.”
The VVMC Auxiliary donated $2,000 to the Mohave Community College Foundation to provide $500 scholarships to four students who are pursuing degrees in allied health programs such as registered nursing, licensed practical nursing, medical assisting, health care information technician, radiologic technology, and paramedic.
The VVMC Auxiliary Scholarship will be awarded to current students who are taking courses on the Bullhead City campus at 3400 Highway 95 and who reside in Bullhead City, Mohave Valley, Fort Mohave, Oatman, Topock, Needles, Calif., or Laughlin, Nev.
“Scholarships are often the key to helping students complete their degree,” said Dan Lara, executive director of the MCC Foundation. “We are forever grateful to the Valley View Auxiliary for supporting our students and the future of exceptional medical care in our communities.
The VVMC Auxiliary provides volunteers and donations to support the mission of Valley View Medical Center located at 5330 Highway 95 in Fort Mohave.
