A local resident was arrested after exposing himself and groping a clerk at a downtown Kingman convenience store. The woman summoned police to the business in the 200 block of East Beale Street at 5:40 a.m. on Sunday, June 4.

Deputy Kingman Police Chief Rusty Cooper said a video surveillance system corroborated the woman’s allegations involving a regular customer who was identified as Chris Brown, 34.

“The investigation revealed that Brown, after entering the store, followed the clerk to a back office, entered the office, exposed and fondled himself in front of her (and) followed her into another room where he groped her,” Cooper said. “The clerk was able to leave and call police.”

Cooper said officers located Brown nearby and placed him under arrest. He was booked into jail for sexual abuse and indecent exposure.
