bee attackKINGMAN-A bee attack in Kingman sent on local man to the hospital after being stung close to 1,000 times early Friday morning in the Valle Vista community.
Mohave County Sheriff’s spokeswoman Leslie DeSantis said deputies, along with Valle Vista Fire Department personnel, responded to a call of subjects being attacked by bees on Friday in the 9000 block of Concho in Valle Vista, a community about 14 miles northeast of Kingman.
DeSantis said a local beekeeper, Johnnie Hoeft was contacted and responded to the scene to contain the bees. He advised emergency personnel it may take several days for full containment.
The victim, whose identity has yet to be released, was taken to Kingman Regional Medical Center where he is currently listed in stable condition. DeSantis said the victim suffered approximately 500 to 1000 stings.
She added that until full containment of the bees can be achieved, the sheriff’s office is asking for people driving through the area to do so with their car windows up, to avoid walking in that area and pets be kept indoors.
