WAVE culinary facilityCulinary enthusiasts are invited to attend Mohave Community College’s course debut in the newly renovated Western Arizona Vocational Education (W.A.V.E) Central Culinary and Business Campus. “Frugal Gourmet: Don’t Fear the Kitchen” is a six-session course designed to teach meal-makers how to create delicious, healthy, easy, and economical meals. Each week will feature a different recipe throughout this hands-on course. Instructor Nancy Atchue has a master’s degree in sociology and said she likes to design nutritious meals that “feed the person rather than just the belly.” The class will be offered from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays between March 24 and April 9 at the new W.A.V.E. culinary facility at 1540 Palo Verde, S., near Golden Corral. Cost is $90 and includes all food and materials. Atchue will also be instructing “Living Green for Pennies,” which will teach how to substitute “green” ingredients for their “chemical-laden counterparts.” The six-session course will be offered from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays between April 14 and April 30 at the W.A.V.E. culinary facility. Cost is $90.  Voters in Mohave and La Paz Counties approved the W.A.V.E. joint technical education district in 2008. The district provides high-quality vocational and technical education to high school students. The district now operates at Central Culinary and Business Campus at the Palo Verde location.
