MCC Trainco-GaryMohave Community College has partnered with a company to help meet the growing workforce demands of the truck-driving industry. Residents who are interested in receiving a commercial driver’s license (CDL) can now attend a CDL training program offered at MCC’s Neal Campus-Kingman. Trainco Truck Driving Schools, of Ohio, is accepting enrollment into its Class A program to assist drivers with licensure to operate a truck and trailer. Trainco provides the classroom instruction and driving training, while MCC provides the classroom space and maneuvering range.  “This is an excellent partnership to offer needed training in Mohave County,” said Brandon Warner, MCC’s corporate education manager. “Trainco has a high-quality reputation and will serve this area well.” According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of heavy and tractor-trailer truck drivers is expected to increase nationally by 11 percent until 2022. The average hourly wage for a driver is $19.68, according to the BLS. Trainco provides hands-on experience, affordable tuition, and a job placement rate that tops 90 percent, according to the company’s website. The company offers an Arizona-licensed curriculum, completion certification, and career counseling. Students will have the opportunity to utilize a full-sized, tractor-trailer vehicle for their training. In addition to Class A instruction, Trainco also provides a 40-hour refresher program to qualified applicants. Trainco is currently accepting applications for its upcoming training program. Interested students should apply directly to Trainco, which will oversee the admissions, advising, registration, and payment processes.
