Mohave Community College’s Surgical Technology program is one of only 3 nationally accredited programs in Arizona offering an associate degree! After just 2 years in the program, MCC graduates earn a degree and land jobs in the growing medical field.
Mohave Community College consistently has nearly 100% job placement rate for Surgical Technology graduates. MCC’s state of the art classrooms prepare Surgical Techs for immediate work in local hospitals.
“I’m very happy to say that we have a lot of MCC graduates here today currently on our staff, who have been quite successful,” said Dr. Christine Sterling, Havasu Regional Medical Center’s Director of Surgical Services.
“The program’s graduated more than 300 students filling crucial staffing needs in Mohave County,” said MCC Surgical Tech Program Director Michelle Schmidt. She is also a graduate of the first surgical tech class at MCC in 2001.
The job outlook for Surgical Technologists is far better than the average growth rate of 7% for all occupations. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, the growth rate for Surgical Techs is expected to hit 15% through 2024. The median annual income is currently $45,000.
