Arizona Senator John McCain continues to express his support for presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump because he is the nominee. McCain, on CNN’s “State of the Union.”   “Well I said all along that I would support the nominee of the party. I believe that a Hillary Clinton presidency will cause the

economy to continue to stumble along.”  McCain was asked if he would ever appear on a stage with Trump. He says Trump would have to mend fences with veterans before that would happen. Trump once said that he didn’t like those who were captured during war. “I think it’s important for Donald Trump to express his appreciation for veterans, not John McCain, but veterans who were incarcerated as prisoners of war.” McCain admitted that with Trump as the nominee, his bid to be re-elected to the senate could be in jeopardy. “There is a Hispanic vote which I have to continue my good relationship with because of the turmoil that exists in this whole national campaign.” McCain says that he would not consider being a running mate for Trump.
