The ordinarily poised and polished Toby Cotter choked up when he noted an empty chair formerly occupied by member Mickey McClure at the February 16 Bullhead City Council meeting. The City Manager held back tears as he spoke of the loss of McClure, the 73-year old who died of lung cancer complications on February 4.
“It’s a sad day for the city. Mickey loved this community. He really did,” Cotter said.
Mayor Tom Brady and other Council members extended their condolences to McClure’s wife and family.
Brady praised McClure’s dedication to the community and the City Council.
“He studied hard. He asked intelligent questions. He made hard decisions,” Brady said. “I am going to miss him deeply.”
Cotter said services are scheduled at 11:00 a.m. Sunday, February 28th, at the Elks Lodge #2408, at 1745 Emerald Drive.
