An Arizona auto auction hits a new record with a $9.9 million Mercedes built in Nazi-Germany. RM Sothebie’s West Coast Managing Director Ian Kelleher says this 1937 540k Special Roadster is an amazing vehicle, one of the few longtail models built for the American market with the steering on the left.

Kelleher says these cars are so valuable because they are iconic pre-war vehicles and are stars of many auto shows and car collections. The car sold new in 1937 for $12-thousand dollars and only six were imported into the United States.
