Today, Mohave County Sheriff announced that he will return the Mine Resistant Armored Patrol vehicle (MRAP) which recently became the point of controversy. The MRAP originally requested over two years ago was not received and in its place this much larger unit was received. Never put into use due to its size, Sheriff McCabe requested it be returned for the smaller unit that was originally requested. The Sheriff was recently advised the likelihood of that happening was slim to none. Therefore, the unit will be returned to the military. Still believing that an armored car is a viable piece of equipment; staff will research acquiring a civilian made armored car.
