A once missing Gilbert woman is confirmed dead Monday, after her body was recovered at a riparian park last Friday. Gilbert Police Sergeant Jesse Sanger identifies the woman as 30 year old Alyssa Romine, who was last seen alive Wednesday. A day after she was reported missing, her body was recovered from the one of the park’s ponds.
Romine’s routine was would be to go to the park and spend several hours there to stroll, read or meditate before meeting her parents for lunch. Her parents called police after she failed to show up for a lunch date. The search was on after the parents discovered her car at the park.
Sanger says foul play still has not been ruled out although there are no signs indicating such. He’s asking for anyone who thinks they may have seen her to call Gilbert Police at 480-503-6500. Romine was white, five-foot-seven, 145 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes, and was said to be soft spoken.
