A 77-year-old Surprise woman reported missing decides to take a joy ride to San Diego without telling anyone.  Spokesman Joaquin Enriquez with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office says Virginia Fink told her husband she was going to the store and run errands when she never came home Tuesday.  Fink’s husband calls

police and a Silver Alert is issued for Virginia.  Fink showed up at home around 4:30 this morning and explained to authorities she felt like a taking a drive to San Diego.  She got out at a rest stop to “just think” and ended up falling asleep.  When she awoke, she decided to drive home and showed up on her doorstep before dawn.  Fink has been diagnosed with early stages of dementia.  Enriquez says it’s a “bizarre story” but Fink arrived home unharmed so it’s a good outcome.
