Bullhead City Fire Department personnel handled a couple of mobile home fires early this week. The first was reported on Tuesday, at 6:53 p.m. in the 1900 block of Monterey Drive.
Spokeswoman Lori Viles said the fire was contained to a rear bedroom where a mattress was scorched. Cause of the fire was initially undetermined.
The second fire was reported on Wednesday, at 5:01 a.m. in the 900 block of Sandy Beach Drive. Fire Marshal Jim Dykens determined combustible materials placed too close to a heating stove ignited the blaze.
“The fire was contained to the living room area,” Viles said. “However, excessive heat and smoke damage did occur throughout the residence”, rendering the home uninhabitable.
No one was injured in either fire.
